A comprehensive study conducted by Strand Partners for AWS unveils the profound impact of AI on Portugal's economy, forecasting a potential €61 billion by 2030 with a 35% adoption rate. While digital investments surged by 61% since 2022, challenges persist, including fostering innovation, bridging digital skill gaps, and democratizing technology access. Despite 87% awareness, only 35% of companies are well-versed in AI. Moreover, 71% struggle with hiring digital-savvy HR. Although AI adoption primarily benefits larger corporations, 64% of Portuguese companies anticipate sector transformation. AWS pledges over €21 billion investment in Europe, positioning Portugal for unprecedented growth opportunities, according to AWS country leader Suzana Curic.
